LOCAL Beer, Patio, Kitchen

Pre-concert drinks and tots? Yes please! Trevor and I went to LOCAL right before the Ariana Grande concert last month. Perfect location, great atmosphere, and awesome beer and food selection. Let’s dig in!

Because its Omaha and any big concert at CenturyLink becomes a city-wide event, LOCAL was running on their special “Events” menu. This entailed a limited food menu so they could streamline orders and get their food out fast. The beer menu featured their normal selection *thank god!*

First, we chose beer. There was a very extensive selection, from pale ales to vegetable fruit beers. Most are local, from Nebraska and the neighboring Midwest states. Trevor picked a peanut butter stout and I picked a sour beer. Unfortunately, both of us were too excited about ordering to remember the breweries, so that not helpful at all. I can tell you that both of them were deeeeelicious! The peanut butter beer really did taste like peanut butter, and my sour beer was fruity and fresh. Plus, each glass was only 6$, an amazing deal for quality beer. This beer is for enjoying!

look at these cool glasses! PB beer on left, sour on right

Next, we had food. We ordered 12 wings and fish and tots. We split the sauce on the wings between Honey Sriracha and normal Buffalo sauce. I don’t have wings too much, but these were definitely hitting the spot! The sauce was great, good pairing with the ranch and vegetables.

We also had the fish and tots, which featured beer-battered cod, tater tots, with lemon on the side. This dish was also great! I loved the fish, it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The tots were also awesome! Very crispy, and almost rivaled tots at Night Owl. Needless to say, the food was great.

I would love to visit again, and not only remember the breweries, but play the giant wall-sized Connect Four in the back of the restaurant! It would be great to select food from their normal full menu, but from what we had on their limited menu, i’m sure its great. In short, great local selection and awesome bar food!

The Bottom Line

Extensive beer selection featuring awesome bar food – can’t wait to go again!
